Addiction Recovery: The Journey to Freedom

Stages of Transformation

ROFM’s low-barrier residential addiction recovery program welcomes men of all walks of life and diverse needs with open arms and open hearts. We provide a safe haven for them as they learn how to walk, step-by-step, toward life-long freedom. These men become beloved students who are surrounded by constant positive support. Additionally, they’re provided direct assistance, education, skill-building, and community resources.

Trusted Mentors

Claiming Victory

At ROFM, students build relationships with trusted mentors and counselors who are equipped to help them claim victory over the
challenges and barriers as they move toward re-entering their
communities. ROFM’s efforts nurture and empower significant success through a unique, five-stage discipleship and family program, bringing hope and freedom from the controlling bonds of addiction. Our program is 10 months, encompassing five stages with built-in benchmarks to support progression. At every stage, students must attend every Sunday church services with the student body.

Our Process

Five Stages of Discipleship

Stage One
(Intensive-30 days)

All students enter the program in Stage 1. This stage is designed for stabilization and acclimation to the program. This means assisting individuals through withdrawal and being active supports during their time of transition into the program. During this phase, students will start a series of classes developed to teach Biblical principles and cultivate a knowledge base that will help students
develop a deeper relationship in Jesus Christ as they overcome life-controlling problems. During the first 30 days, working in the Thrift Store or with our Vocational Director will be on a voluntary basis.

Stage Two
(Invitation-3 months)

After their first month of adjustment, students complete the final ten group studies. In Stage Two, students will have the opportunity to become ROFM employees to strengthen work ethic and learn specific life skills like receiving payments, budgeting, and financial management. Students are each assigned a counselor and life coach; both mentoring and counseling begin in this stage and continue for the program’s duration via one-to-one and group formats. All classes must be successfully completed before moving to Stage Three.

Stage Three
(Immersion-3 months)

After months of hard work, ROFM students begin course work in an individualized study program to provide these men the opportunity to develop an individual study and service plan, developed in collaboration with a ROFM counselor. Each plan addresses the unique needs, concerns, and issues that challenge a specific student. Mentoring, counseling, and ROFM employment with a possible increase in pay continue through this stage.

Stage Four
(Integration-3 months)

Integration is the preparation stage for program discharge. It allows students to either prepare to enter the Internship Program (as available or necessary) or to prepare for full-time employment within the community or with ROFM (as available). Under the right circumstances, a student can attain full- or part-time employment with an approved local employer during this stage. The student must continue to meet with their counselor and life coach during employment.

Stage Five
(Graduation)

In this stage, students have the opportunity to either officially begin the Internship Program or community employment with the option of the Residential Re-entry Program. ROFM graduates who enroll in the Residential Re-entry Program enter into a “Stage Five Contract” with ROFM staff. This contract includes room and board on-site, a commitment to maintain abstinence from all substances, the pursuit of ongoing recovery, community support and counseling, and full-time employment within the community or with ROFM. Graduates under contract must continue to attend church services every Sunday.
